Children have very small mouths. This means that undergoing traditional dental x-rays can be difficult for them. To protect your child, our office uses the most recent digital technology, which has greatly improved the safety, comfort and speed of x-rays. X-rays are a vital part of preventive and restorative treatment because they can reveal issues that aren’t visible to the naked eye. For example, x-rays allow us to evaluate how well permanent teeth are developing before they come in. They also help us to determine if cavities are starting in between the teeth or under the tooth surface. Dr. Berlin uses this information to safely and accurately detect hidden dental abnormalities and complete an accurate treatment plan for your child. Without x-rays, problem areas may go undetected.
Each child we see is different, and the need for digital x-rays will differ from child to child. Digital x-rays use significantly less radiation, reducing the exposure up to 95%. It’s also better for the earth! There is no need to use harmful chemicals to process the film. To learn more about how we use x-rays at our office, we welcome you to call or visit us soon.
